I'm an illustrator / author / printmaker originally from Yorkshire now living and working in Cambridge, UK. I studied English Literature at the University of Edinburgh and then the MA in Children's Book Illustration at Cambridge School of Art, and the combination of stories and images is what I love best!
My first book, Child of St Kilda, was published in February 2019 by Child's Play UK. It follows the life of Norman John Gillies, one of the last children ever to live on St Kilda, and is illustrated entirely using hand mono printing techniques and minimal digital edits. The book has been nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal 2020, and illustrations from the book were selected for the Bologna Illustrator's Exhibition, the Bratislava Illustration Biennial, and the AOI World Illustration Awards. As well as working on children's books I sell prints and take commissions for large scale 3D work and bespoke artwork. I love the outdoors, walking and being by the sea. I live in a tiny thatched cottage outside Cambridge with my partner and our little boy.
